Mature Sycamore Removal

This mature sycamore stood between two terraced houses, where it had gradually outgrown its surroundings.

Although the tree was in reasonable condition, it had become too large for the available space. The roots had begun lifting the surrounding tarmac, while the dense canopy was restricting natural light to the rear flats.

Having carried out tree work for this landlord on several occasions over the years, we were asked to dismantle the tree carefully to prevent future problems and improve the outdoor space for the property’s residents.

Because the tree stood so close to the neighbouring buildings, it was dismantled one section at a time using rigging techniques to lower branches and timber safely into the limited space below. This approach eliminated the risk of damage to the surrounding roofs, gutters and windows.

Access to the rear courtyard was particularly restricted, so we also coordinated with residents throughout the day, moving our truck when required to allow vehicles in and out without disruption.

The result was the safe removal of a mature tree from a challenging location, leaving the property with improved natural light, better access and no damage to the surrounding buildings.
